Why having fear is actually awesome

I'm so sick of people dissing fears, and all the emotions that come with them: doubt, loneliness, despair, hopelessness, etc.

Think about it: If you already don't like how those emotions feel, why add to that feeling by also believing those emotions are "bad"? How does that help anything? When people shame our lower emotions it makes me want to scratch my eyeballs out.

None of your emotions are bad, or useless.

In fact, if you have a lot of fears, it means you're a passionate person. People who don't get as discouraged as you, don't care as much as you. People who don't get as heartbroken as you do, don't love as hard as you do.

Having a lot of fear-based emotions is actually a compliment about who you are as a person: you are PASSIONATE!

So, instead of thinking that fear is "bad" and trying to act like it doesn't exist because someone on social media told you it isn't real or that it's a liar, welcome it into your life!

Get coffee with it.

Listen to it!

It's got so much wisdom for you. And once you listen to it, the pain that comes with it subsides. We should be thanking our fears, not trying to outrun or ignore them.

Here's how it works:

1. We create our reality with our beliefs.

2. If we don't choose our beliefs, they choose us (so we might as well consciously choose them).

3. When we listen to our fears, they teach us what beliefs need to change.

4. Once we're aware of that, we can thank the fear for bringing it to our attention and work towards changing the belief.

It's like a GPS. Fear-based emotions are like when the voice in your GPS keeps going "rerouting...rerouting...rerouting" - if you're not listening and just trying to push through blindly, you're just making things harder on yourself. Listen to this voice. Welcome it in like an old friend. Let it help you stay on a path that you want to be on. If you keep ignoring it, you're only making things harder on yourself.
